The Queens Theatre located in Corona, Flushing is the cornerstone of art and theatre development in the Queens community. Recognized for its vibrant performing arts center and diverse showcase of artists from Queens as well as traveling artists, the Queens Theatre is internationally acclaimed for its various contributions to the art and theatre industry. With performances such as the dramatic interpretation of Hellen Keller’s life in The Miracle Worker to the hip-hop showcases from the Rennie Harris Puremovement, the first and longest running hip-hop dance touring company, the Queens Theatre stands to represent the cultural diversity and creative diversity of the Queens art community.
To help preserve the Queens Theatre and its ethnically diverse art community, Gina Argento, President of Broadway Stages, has supported various Queens artists by sponsoring the Queens Theatre Gala. As a Stage Manager supporter of the gala event, Gina has helped finance the creation of dance, production, and developmental programs at the Queens Theatre. She believes these programs are essential in helping local Queens artisans mature their artistic craft and provide opportunities for them to showcase their talent.
