#GoGina at YMCA

The YMCA combines environmental education and self-development in its summer and after-school learning program at Greenpoint. The YMCA at Greenpoint, located on 99 Meserole Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11222, helps select students engage in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) based activities geared towards making New York City(NYC) a sustainable environment. It is committed to teaching youths in its development program learn about various ways on how they can help make NYC more environmentally friendly. The STEM program teaches students about individual responsibilities toward the preservation of the natural environment in NYC through implementing skills from science and math. The YMCA summer program also stands to support communicative skills to help NYC students introduce green initiative to friends and family. The YMCA at Greenpoint explains that the student education program, ” is an essential mission of the NYC Y to show young people that their futures are filled with possibilities. While all of these students have likely studied science and math during school hours, the Y’s programs give them a second, complementary venue, one that may be more fun and more welcoming.”

Gina Argento, President of Broadway Stages, has continually supported the YMCA at Greenpoint by financing the STEM programs to promote green education and green initiatives. Argento’s committed partnership with the YMCA at Greenpoint has awarded her the Environmental Education Award from YMCA at Greenpoint. Gina Argento is enthusiastic to continue support YMCA and share Broadway Stages’s vision for a green future for Greenpoint, Brooklyn.
